Overdose Deaths Wiping Out Erie County Population Gains

(The Buffalo News, April 28) Erie County, New York, is experiencing so many opiate overdoses that its county population growth will be lost within two years, according to census data. The county has about 10 deaths a week from overdoses on opiates. So far there's been 157 deaths in 2016, compared to 84 deaths up to this date last year. The victims range from teenagers to the elderly, and it's killing more people than auto accidents. READ MORE.
