Teen Speaks Out About Prescription Abuse, Heroin Addiction and Recovery

(WBRC, May 13) 18-year-old “John” is one of many teens who are recovering from heroin addiction in North Alabama. He was interested in experimenting, and would try different drugs until he became hooked on prescription pills. When he ran out of his supply, he went through withdrawals that were physically taxing, including chills and vomiting. As a result, he turned to heroin to avoid the withdrawals.
