Teen Weed Smokers More Likely to Do Other Drugs, Study Says
(Live Science, June 7) Teens that regularly use weed usually don’t stop there, according to a new study.
Teens that use marijuana, even if they only use it occasionally, are 26 times more likely to use other illegal drugs like cocaine or hallucinogens by the time they reach 21, according to a new study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.
The study also found that teens who used marijuana once a week were 37 times more likely to be addicted to nicotine and three times more likely to have dangerous drinking habits by 21 compared to their peers that didn’t use marijuana. Read more.
